Once we arrived in Pittwater we could relax and nurse Erica’s back. We just had to find a new anchor, and post our boat for sale, and wait for Sophie and Thomas to arrive.
The new anchor wasn’t a requirement, since the national park has plenty of public mooring, but a new anchor meant some peace of mind for the skipper should we need to use it. Thankfully there was a popular marine supply store (Whitworths) only minutes away from the marina. We rented a car that wasn’t too far of a walk via Uber care-share, and we drove to the chandlery to grab a new Lewmar 16kg delta anchor. Unfortunately it wasn’t in stock so we ended up ordering it (to pick up a few days later) and then we completed a few more errands.
The car we rented was manual, which ended up being a bad choice. My jerky 1st gear engagement skill in the hills near the marina was a bit stressful, and not great for Erica’s back. We decided not to book that car again, sadly the next closest car available was a 1 hour walk away.
Next on the list was creating an ad for French Kiss. Erica updated the contract appendix, which shows the inventory on the boat. We initially created it for the contract with the previous owner when we we bought the boat a couple years back. As you can imagine there were lots of updates required, it needed to include all the equipment the boat has and the cruising gear that we planned to leave aboard, most of which we had bought or upgraded since purchasing it. We also cleaned and organized the boat to take some nice professional looking pictures.

Finally we created the ad on boatsonline.com.au and yachthub.com.au and waited to gauge interest.
Sophie and Thomas are here!!!
Since Pittwater is 1.5 to 2 hours away from the Sydney airport, I offered grab another car-share car and pick up them up. I hadn’t thought thoroughly through that offer, they arrived on Monday morning during rush hour and I was going to be without a navigator with Erica still nursing her back.
Google maps kindly routed me through downtown Sydney, across the bridge and via the central business district as opposed to keeping me on the highway due to rush hour traffic. Driving around Sydney was super taxing and not something I plan to repeat.
I eventually got to the airport, Sophie and Thomas arrived at the short stay car park where I was picking them up at pretty much the same time I did. After a rocky start to the day we were now three making our way back to the marina!
